The course is designed for passionate curry lovers and cooks keen to learn and perfect their cooking expertise. At this exclusive cooking course, the emphasis is on simplicity, to demystify and showcase clean, Indian foods with a combination of demonstrations and practical hands-on sessions.

This comprehensive, cooking course will incorporate a broad variety of cooking techniques and skills. The course will cover the following:

Session 1

An introduction to the Masala dabba/the Indian spice box and healing properties of Indian spices

  • Bread making – from just two to three ingredients learn how to knead, stretch and create different types of Indian bread
  • Curries – Classic sauces learn the different techniques of preparing and cooking authentic vegetable and meat curries

Session 2

Master the basics of homemade Indian cheese to create delectable dishes. Learn the secrets of accomplished rice making, together with chutneys and pickles; the perfect accompaniments to any Indian meal.

Session 3

  • Snacks, Starters and Street food
  • Bhaji/Pakora bites
  • Samosas learn how to make the filling and pastry
  • Sweet, sour, tangy tamarind chutney
  • Restorative spiced masala tea


Veena Josh is the co-founder of Curry on Cooking, a company that sells delicious healthy curry kits. The kits are a perfect blend of herbs and spices with a shopping lists and easy to follow recipes. The company was featured in the successful TV series Bargain Brits in the Sun. A filmmaker, mentor and coach, she loves to teach Indian cookery and runs both individual and group masterclasses as well as supper clubs in the UK and Spain. Veena is a former BBC TV, radio news and current affairs journalist and also writes regular cookery columns for several magazines in the UK and Spain, including Female Focus magazine.
